About this generator

This tool generates Christmas would-you-rather questions: two holiday choices per question, about snowmen, presents, cookies, sleighs, family traditions, and the small dilemmas of the season. Pick a style, choose how many you want (1 to 16), and you get a shuffled list with no repeats in the batch. There are 64 questions in four styles of 16 each. Funny is silly and a little absurd, Kids is short and imaginative for children of roughly 4 to 10, Family is about real holiday habits you can actually argue about (real tree or artificial?), and Hard Choices makes you give something up. Mixed draws from all four and labels each question with its style. For year-round questions with no holiday theme, use the main Would You Rather generator instead.

How to use

  1. Choose a style, or leave it on Mixed for a labelled mix of all four.
  2. Set how many questions you want, from 1 to 16.
  3. Click Generate to get a shuffled list with no repeats in the batch.
  4. Read the questions aloud, or copy the list to print on cards or place settings.

Use Cases

  • •Keeping the table talking between the holiday meal and dessert
  • •A quick icebreaker at an office or classroom holiday party
  • •Playing in the car on a long drive to see relatives
  • •Giving kids a game that needs no board, cards, or batteries on Christmas Eve
  • •Writing one question on each place card or cracker slip for the dinner table

Tips

  • →After everyone picks, ask one person from each side to defend their choice. The explanations are the best part.
  • →Use the Kids style when young children are playing and let them read the question out if they can.
  • →Save Hard Choices for later in the evening, when people are relaxed and happy to debate.
  • →Have people stand on one side of the room or the other instead of just answering, which wakes up a sleepy party.
  • →Generate again whenever a question does not suit your group; every batch is reshuffled.

FAQ

what are good christmas would you rather questions

The best ones make both choices tempting, or both a little awful, so people actually have to think: real tree or artificial, open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning, give up holiday music or holiday treats. The Family and Hard Choices styles here are built around choices like that, while Funny goes for laughs.

are these questions okay for kids

Yes. All 64 questions are family-friendly, and the Kids style is written for children of roughly 4 to 10, with short questions about reindeer, snow forts, and gingerbread houses. Nothing in any style is about money, bodies, or anything that could embarrass a guest.

how is this different from the regular would you rather generator

The regular Would You Rather generator has year-round questions in Funny, Deep, Gross, and Superpowers styles. This one only has holiday and winter questions, and its styles are sorted by who is playing (Kids, Family) rather than by tone alone, so you can match the list to the room.

how do you play would you rather at a christmas party

Read a question aloud and have everyone choose, either by pointing to one side of the room or by raising a hand for each option. Then ask one or two people from each side to explain their choice. That second step is where the fun is. One question every few minutes is plenty for a dinner; for a party game, go through five or six in a row.
